Communications Officer

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Communications Officer. The successful candidate will report to the Managing Director and will play a key role in:

  • Managing and coordinating marketing, corporate and communication activities and budget
  • Managing the company’s internal and external digital sites (Facebook, website etc) with up to date and relevant information, when and as required
  • Taking lead in events organization, management and publicity to champion brand visibility and enhance the good image of the company
  • Providing business support to commercial team for ease operations
  • Compiling and circulating the monthly market analysis report which analyses the petroleum and energy market share
  • Compiling and circulating the market competitive activity report on a monthly basis which highlights energy market activities with action report and oversee implementation
  • Managing consistent internal and external information flow
  • Ensuring anticipated and updated communication planning including stakeholder management and MD’s briefs
  • Assisting the Managing Director in company representation both through internal and external communication activities
  • Selecting, briefing, reviewing and approving proposals/concepts from advertising and media agencies
  • Ensuring optimum readiness in unlikely event of media drawing crisis or news item with concise and accurate information
  • Ensuring adherence to company norms and standards and regular feedback and communication within the AFA Zone and with Group Head-Office
  • Participating in the procurement and control distribution of promotional and advertising materials
  • Identifying and proposing new activities for promoting the image and business of the company and take a leading role in implementation process
  • Developing strategic alliances with major distributors, manufacturers, and other marketing firms through marketing agreements
  • Developing, proposing and overseeing communication and promotional campaigns in support of new or existing business opportunities.
  • Handling and guiding on concepts graphic designs and modifications to artwork
  • Conducting market surveys about the company’s products, services and brand perception

Other tasks include:

  • Manage projects as per assigned by management time to time
  • Support and guide teams in information management and use of internal platforms

Qualifications and competencies:

  • A business-related degree from a recognized institution as a minimum. Post graduate qualifications in Business Management (MBA) and Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) are desirable
  • A strong orientation towards numerical, analytical and reporting skills
  • Computer skills with a sound knowledge in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills and abilities
  • Project and contract management skills are also vital for the job
  • Working experience of retail network & consumer business.
  • Working experience in a marketing department or agency
